Tia (Pu) Kotarba

Tia joined Sapphire Ventures in the beginning of 2019. As part of the Finance team, she assists with the Sapphire Partners operations, financial reporting, and tax related matters.

She came from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she had been practicing tax compliance and consulting for venture capital and private equity clients. Prior to that, she worked at a private equity firm and was exposed to various domestic and international tax-related entity structuring. Her entrepreneurial spirit is driving her to grow out of tax and become a well-rounded professional in finance.

Tia grew up in Hunan, China and moved to the US in 2005. She graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s in business economics, emphasis in accounting, and obtained her CPA license in 2013.
