Adam Liu is a Vice President on the Investment Team at Sapphire Ventures, where he focuses on AI infrastructure, robotics, developer tools/devops, and cybersecurity. Since joining in 2021, Adam has helped lead investments in Temporal, Baseten, Cyera, Weights & Biases, Glean, and Defense Unicorns, among others. Over the past five years, he has played a key role in shaping Sapphire’s AI infrastructure strategy, from developing investment theses and identifying emerging category leaders to sourcing new opportunities and helping drive investments across the firm’s portfolio.

Prior to Sapphire, Adam worked in Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Technology Investment Banking Group, advising on multi-billion-dollar IPOs and M&A transactions across the software and internet sectors. He also brings a blend of operating and investing experience from roles at Light Street Capital, Yahoo!, and early-stage startups, giving him perspective from both sides of the table.

Adam graduated with distinction from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. in Business Administration. He grew up in Palo Alto, CA, and outside of work is an avid marathon runner, triathlete, golfer, and watch enthusiast.
