Sam is Associate General Counsel at Sapphire Ventures, where he focuses on investments in early-stage venture capital funds, secondaries transactions and co-investments, as well as fundraising, operational and compliance matters.

Prior to joining Sapphire Ventures, Sam was an Associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he represented companies and private equity firms in connection with mergers and acquisitions, fund formation and general corporate and securities matters.

Sam holds a JD from Duke University School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Duke Law Journal, and a BA from Tulane University, where he graduated magna cum laude and fell in love with the city of New Orleans. In his free time, Sam enjoys playing golf and pickleball, discovering new music, and spending time with friends and family.
