Evan Tarzian invests in venture capital funds, secondaries transactions, and co-investments for Sapphire Partners – the LP arm of Sapphire Ventures –  with a particular focus on early-stage technology funds in the US, Europe and Israel.

Prior to joining Sapphire Partners, Evan was an Associate with the Alternatives Research team at Wilshire. During his time there, he focused on investment research across primaries, secondaries, and co-investment opportunities. Prior to Wilshire, Evan worked at United Wind, a renewable energy startup, and began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Evan is a contributor to OpenLP from Sapphire Partners – a curated resource for the venture capital community providing transparency into the LP mindset. He supports content creation through writing and research, including data on outperformance in enterprise vs consumer venture investing and capital calls.

A Pennsylvania native, Evan graduated from Duquesne University where he double majored in finance and accounting, and is also a CFA Charterholder. During his free time, Evan enjoys taking his dog for long walks along the Embarcadero and exploring San Francisco’s restaurant scene with his girlfriend.
