Michael Spirito is a co-founding partner of Sapphire Sport. Michael is currently a member of the board of directors at Fevo, Flowhaven, Onlife and Overtime and an observer at beehiiv, ForKeeps, Lucky Energy and MixHalo.
Previously, Michael led digital media and business development across the portfolio of 22 FOX regional sports networks. He joined YES Network beginning in 2006, helping build and ultimately sell the business to FOX for $3.8BN in 2014. While at YES, Michael was responsible for several initiatives including launching the first ever authenticated streaming product in U.S. sport.
Michael was a founding member of Time Warner Ventures in 2000, where he was responsible for the company’s investing focus on advanced digital video services. He began his career in the media and telecommunications investment banking group at Credit Suisse. Personally, Michael has served as an early stage investor in and advisor to Bonobos, Trunk Club, Tecovas, Billie, RotoQL, Drone Racing League, Overtime, Cargo and Boom.
Michael graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College, where he played football and baseball, with a bachelor’s in economics, and from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he played dodgeball and led the GSB Show, with an MBA. Michael was named to the Multichannel News 40-under-40 list in 2010 and is a two-time Emmy winner who enjoys reading, fitness and traveling. A native Rhode Islander, Michael lives in New York City
