The tech sector is no doubt a dynamic industry, continuously shaped by groundbreaking technologies every few years—whether it’s the internet, mobile, cloud computing, and now, generative AI. For modern businesses, digital transformation continues to be a top priority as they adapt to these innovations, but it’s also a significant challenge. Consider the numbers: there are over 6 million businesses in the U.S., the overwhelming majority of which are SMBs, with different needs and at various stages of their tech journeys.1 Astonishingly, 40% of these small to medium-sized businesses have no internal IT staff at all.2 Time and time again here at Sapphire Ventures, we see that IT is increasingly complex and overwhelmingly unwieldy for a majority of businesses to manage. But to be competitive, it’s a gap they can’t afford to ignore.
Companies are more frequently turning to Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and IT specialists for support who deliver better reliability and support services. It’s no wonder MSP spend is projected to grow at two to three times (12% CAGR) the rate of all other IT solutions for SMBs2. Despite the demand for MSPs, the market for third-party IT services is competitive, and skilled IT professionals are becoming scarce. In addition, as companies seek to keep costs down they’re pressured to do more with less by driving improved productivity out of existing headcount.
Enter Rewst, a low-code automation platform that helps MSPs build and automate workflows, improving their efficiency and ultimately, driving results for SMBs. Today, we are egg-static to announce that we are leading Rewst’s $45 million capital raise3, helping hatch the company’s next chapter of growth.

A Robust Automation Platform for MSPs
Rewst is a purpose-built automation platform for MSPs. Uniquely tailored to the needs of the modern MSP, the platform integrates with over 80 critical tools across the MSP software stack. With Rewst, MSPs have the ability to build and automate hundreds of manual workflows, including onboarding and offboarding users, user group documentation, billing reconciliation, reporting, phishing remediation, approvals and many more. In creating these automations, we believe MSPs are able to achieve significant time savings, automate labor-intensive operations and reduce unforced errors, while providing underlying clients with a better overall experience.
With Rewst, automations may easily be created using a simple drag-and-drop interface. For more complex scenarios, tech-forward MSPs can use Jinja to extend the functionality, enabling the creation of custom workflows that hinge on conditional logic, data manipulation, looping, filtering and more. On the other end of the spectrum, Rewst has also developed several pre-built automations, “Crates,” which package together common workflows, forms, triggers, templates, scripts and more for an easy, out-of-the-box, instantly deployable solution.
Automation is only just the beginning with Rewst. Looking ahead, the company has several exciting developments on the roadmap, including a front-end App Platform and Agent Smith, an open-source command executor, among more innovations to come.
A Vibrant Community of Customers
What stood out to Sapphire most was the company’s vibrant community of MSPs. Rewst boasts nearly 1,000 customers, many of whom are active contributors to its community, which is built on collaboration and shared knowledge. Members frequently participate in discussions on Slack, Discord, Reddit and during weekly stand-ups, where they help each other get the most out of Rewst. This thriving community was particularly evident to us at Rewst’s inaugural FLOW conference, where almost 300 MSPs congregated in Tampa, Florida to share their unique experiences working with the platform. Furthermore, Rewst has invested considerably in its Cluck University program—a comprehensive set of tutorials and documentation designed to help automation experts derive more value from the platform.
