Derek partners with Sapphire’s portfolio companies to support their growth journeys and also leads Sapphire’s corporate CIO community. In his role, Derek collaborates with leaders within Sapphire’s portfolio, helping them scale their organizations through strategy guidance, peer learnings, playbooks, partner connectivity and other value-add services. While also engaging with digital leaders across Sapphire’s corporate network to share insights on emerging trends and drive community events.

Derek Joined Sapphire after spending nearly a decade working in operating roles at hyper-growth startups. Prior to embarking on his career in Tech, Derek pursued advanced degrees in England and South Africa and played Rugby professionally abroad as well.

He currently lives in San Francisco and enjoys traveling, cooking, staying active, and spending time outdoors.
