Cristina joined Sapphire in 2021 as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer and Partner, where she leads the firm’s strategic finance, accounting, and operations, including financial reporting, valuations, tax and cash management.  She is committed to creating and maintaining a best-in-class finance and operations team, systems, and processes, emphasizing the importance of embracing change and challenging the status quo. 

With over 15 years of experience in alternative asset management, Cristina previously served as VP of Finance at Deerfield Management, a healthcare-focused investment firm. In that role, she managed all financial and accounting functions for the firm’s investment funds and played a key role in scaling the finance team to support various expanding investment strategies. She began her career as an auditor in the financial services practice at Grant Thornton. Cristina holds a B.S. in Accounting from Penn State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).
