Prior to joining Sapphire Ventures, Cate was an investment banking associate at Goldman Sachs in the TMT group in San Francisco, where she primarily focused on software equity & debt financings and M&A. Between GS and Sapphire, Cate spent time at Sapphire’s portfolio company Simpplr, where she worked on cross-functional strategy & operations projects. Prior to GS, Cate began her career as an investment banking analyst at Mizuho. Cate is from the East Coast — she grew up in Connecticut, graduated from Emory University with a degree in finance and mathematics, and lived in New York before moving to San Francisco in 2021. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, swimming in the ocean, and exploring SF restaurants.
