Dave is a co-founder and partner at Sapphire Ventures and a partner at Sapphire Sport. He has worked in venture capital for over 20 years because he enjoys collaborating with driven, knowledgeable founders to create technologies and businesses that change the world. Currently, he’s most excited about the possibilities related to applied AI.

Dave is a generalist technology investor who has experience with B2B technologies (analytics, SaaS applications, data, infrastructure, and security), as well as consumer applications and services such as digital health and wellness, gaming, financial services, ticketing, and travel. He is currently on the boards of Brightfield, LeanData, Medable and StackHawk. Nine of his investments have gone public while 13 have experienced M&As. Some of his most notable investments include Alfresco, FitBit, Livongo Health, Looker, OnDeck Capital, and TicketFly.

Prior to joining Sapphire Ventures in 2006, Dave worked at Deloitte Consulting and Battery Ventures. He has a BSE in operations research from Princeton and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. He’s interested in hearing about the best book you’ve read recently.
