Xiaoping is a Partner and Head of Data & Technology at Sapphire Ventures, where she leads the strategy and execution across data, analytics, and next-generation AI technology to deliver firmwide impact at scale.

Xiaoping is a seasoned leader with over 10 years of experience building and scaling technology-enabled, data-driven products for investment funds and the broader financial services sector. Most recently, she led data science and engineering efforts at CapitalG, Alphabet’s independent growth fund, where she focused on developing innovative data and AI solutions to sharpen investment decision making in startups and crypto. Previously, as a technical lead at Orbital Insight, a pioneering geospatial intelligence company, she spearheaded the launch of industry-leading products for hedge funds and played a key role in winning the company’s largest customers. Xiaoping began her career as a Senior Consultant within EY’s Quantitative Advisory Services practice.

Xiaoping got her BSc in Mathematics from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China and holds a PhD in Statistics from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
