Philipp Seifert joined Sapphire Ventures as a member of the growth investment team in the summer of 2017. On an ongoing basis, he analyzes and performs due diligence on new investments while assisting current portfolio companies.
Over the last several years, Philipp has worked on Sapphire’s investments in Clari, Braze, Current, DataRobot, InfluxData, Matillion, Medable, project44, and Segment (acquired by Twilio). In addition, Philipp currently holds or has held official and unofficial board observer seats at ActivTrak, AllyO, Phoenix Labs (acquired by Garena), and Reonomy. In 2019, Business Insider listed Philipp as a VC Rising Star Investor.
Prior to joining Sapphire Ventures, Philipp was part of Goldman Sachs’ TMT investment banking division in San Francisco and worked on a number of high-profile IPO and M&A transactions. Philipp received a bachelor’s in mathematical economic analysis from Rice University and was team captain of the men’s varsity tennis team. Originally from Munich, Germany, Philipp is also fluent in German.
