“There’s nothing like working with an investor who’s been through the day-to-day pain and triumph of building meaningful businesses. Paul has been through it all, and ‘gets it.’ We battled side-by-side at Trulia, and his ongoing counsel at Solv has been invaluable.”
Paul joined Sapphire Ventures in 2018 to broaden Sapphire’s consumer technology practice and lead new investments in the consumer, marketplace, fintech, and proptech spaces. He brings 20 years of experience as an operator and leader of high-growth consumer tech organizations including Trulia, Zillow Group, Yahoo!, and E*TRADE. Paul is currently a member of the board at Side.
Prior to joining Sapphire, Paul was president and COO of Trulia, where he helped lead Trulia’s transformation from a private 100-person company with $20 million in revenue, to a successful standalone public company (NYSE: TRLA) and to its eventual merger with Zillow Group (NASDAQ: ZG) to create a company with more than 3,000 employees, $1 billion in revenue and $10 billion in market capitalization.
Before Trulia and Zillow Group, Paul held leadership roles in product, marketing and general management at Yahoo!, E*TRADE, CurrentTV and AdBrite. He has been an investor and/or advisor to over 25 tech startups, ranging from early-stage startups to growth-stage companies.
Paul served on the board of directors of TubeMogul (NASDAQ: TUBE, acquired by Adobe) and Zvents (acquired by eBay). He holds a bachelor’s in economics and English from Amherst College, and an MBA from Stanford University.
